Yppah Live! @ The Parrish / Austin, Tx / Gumball Machine Weekend

(O_O)..WOW..this was a HUGE night for Yppah. so many factors leading up to this performance..and yes, i will count the ways :)

1. this was the "1st" night of our "1st" legit tour ever..

2. we just hopped on the HUGE international BONOBO Tour and were headed northwest all the way up the coast.

3. we were 5 deep(+ all of our gear) in a Dodge Caravan. the odometer was set and ready for the 6,000 mile road trip ahead of us.

4. Every show(except for the Houston show boo!) were completely sold out! oh, and i'm talking about these venues:

The Parrish - Austin, TX
Ogden Theatre - Denver Colorado
The Casbah - San Diego, CA
El Rey Theatre - LA, CA
The Mezzanine - SF, CA
Wonder Ballroom - Portland, OR
The Showbox - Seattle, WA

5. again, we were opening for BONOBO!!, with his 5 piece-classically-trained-musicians backing him! (not to mention, the beautiful Andreya Triana on vocals)

6. aaaand only our 2nd show with the lovely new band members; Laura Lee on Bass guitar and Nina Varner on the sweet vintage Casio keyboard setup.

7. what else, oh yeah..we were on a legit U.S. tour!!!

sorry, just so much leading up to this night..so many thoughts running through my head at the time..and oh yes, it was a rocky start but, every show was so special in its own way and i feel like we definitely killed every night.

I definitely can't wait for next tour..across seas anyone? i vote YES.

ALSO, a huge thank you goes out to the man himself, Simon Green aka Bonobo, who we later on found out was the main reason we even saw the light of this tour. it was a life experience that only was had because of him. buy all his albums haha!!

I'd also would like to thank the rest of the band, who all were just amazingly awesome human beings with a butt load of talent.  Joe Villacrusis, Bonobo's tour manager, was the man. he took us lil ones under his wing when he had so much on his plate and didn't have too even look at us if he didn't want to :D

GOOD PEOPLES = GOOD TIMES.
